If you haven't been to a Modern Jive class
before, whether it be Pulse or one of the other many Jive nights,
below are a few handy hints for you.
the aim
To have a fun and enjoyable nights dancing,
while learning to Modern Jive.
the lesson
A beginners lesson will last for 30 minutes,
showing you 3 or 4 of the basic moves. It will take most people
just 4 to 6 lessons to master the beginners moves and then you1ll
be ready to move on up to the intermediate classes......it's
as quick and easy as that to learn.
partners
You don't need one, but if you have one that's
great, it really doesn't matter either way. Modern Jive is very
friendly and mixing with new people is easy, so it's also a
great way to meet and make new friends.

hygiene
Modern Jive is an aerobic exercise, so deodorant
is an absolute must, and a spare shirt to change into as the
night goes on is also a great idea. You get a lot more dances
if you smell sweet and feel fresh !!!
dress code
Casual but loose is best. Footwear is the most
important, sensible and smooth bottomed is the key...so no trainers
as they're a nightmare to dance in.
During the 9 o'clock intermediate lesson, beginners (those dancers
with 6 weeks experience or less) will be taken into a separate
area, and taken through the beginners lesson again to re-enforce
the style and techniques learnt earlier
